Brain Leech (BE) B

I arrived at the planet in the summer of 1982.
As a young boy I had my father’s turntable in my room and I played
with his old albums.
At the age of 14 I discovered the dance music on vinyl; as a result
I stole my aunt’s turntable and bought a mixer. 2 friends of me had
a discobar, so I joined them. We played at all kind of parties. When I
saved enough money to buy turntables, I’ve quit the discobar and
started to play al kinds of dance music. Trance, techno, house,
groove, funk, drum and bass, hip-hop and some turntablism.
I’ve been to a lot of party’s, but there is nothing that beats a goa
party. Greamush foose invited me to play with him on a party, and we
had a very good feeling about it. Since then I started to buy
psy- records. And now we rock the parties together!!
We bring the warm sound of vinyl to you…

 

 

DJ Apex (UK) A

Apex first became involved in the electronic music scene when he attended his first rave in 1994. Two years later he started DJing drum & bass, quickly becoming a proficient scratch DJ. He became resident at Depth Charge in Oxford where he played along big names in the drum and bass industry such as Kenny Ken, Brockie and Shy FX.

 After spending a while traveling and repeatedly finding himself drawn to psytrance parties he decided that was the music he really wanted to DJ. Since then he has energized dance floors at parties all over the world including Soulclipse in Turkey, the Island Gathering in Norway, Alien Safari, Vortex and Beartrap in South Africa, the solar eclipse festival in Tunisia, numerous full-moon parties and New Year's Eve parties in Thailand, Burning Man in the USA, the Desertview Festival in Morocco, the Sun Explosion Festival in Italy, as well as parties in Brazil, Austria, Hungary, Switzerland, Argentina and Belgium. He is label DJ for Peak Records (CH), Northern Psylight Records (NO), part of the XVibe agency (BR) and resident DJ for Ganjatree (BE). He is in the process of compiling the next compilation for Peak Records, Peak-a-doodle-doo due out in Autumn '07.

 

 

MagicDave (UK) E

Born in UK too long ago, and always been a music lover, but until 1991 my musical tastes were hard rock – Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple…


However a trip to Goa in 1991 and one party later I was hooked. Not sure on what, but I found a new music form and set out discovering new music. The journey was unguided, but in 1995 I discovered Psy trance or Goa trance and I never looked back.


I started getting into the then hard to find psy party scene before moving to Plymouth in 1997. Up till this point I had purely gone to dance and have fun, but now there was no scene to be found in deepest south west England.

After several years partying and promoting in the UK, I am now part of Ganjatree in Belgium and Teleport in Plymouth.  This year was good as I got to debut at GT4 party in April, then played at Naked Festival in Germany too.  I am looking forward to organising and celebrating 10 years of psy trance in Plymouth soon. And a Ganjatree party will happen in London. Watch this space :-)

 

 


2CB (BE)

My name is Bjorn Colliers. 11 Years ago I started playing with turntables in Hardcore and Hard-Trance scenes in Belgium. My first gig was at a party for the rave team-organisation, very well known as, SHADOW. Things really went well as I was called by AREA 51, a club where I was a resident almost every friday and saturday. I played there for 2,5 years. Then I played for 5 months in a club called SPIRIT, 7 months in club SIROCCO and was a guest dj in club KABARKA. But the music changing and the scene went more violant. I played a few months in club FAUNA, but there were so many fights that I wasn't able to put my soul into the music and i had to trun my back at the Hardcore-scene, but I never turned my back at my turntables. I played more hardtrance and retro-house but it I didn't get my whole soul. But then I met psytrance. I fell in love when I heared these tunes and started buying records like a madman. When I didn't find enough records fitting my style I turned to cds.

January 2008 i was asked to join the GanjaTree Crew, this brought already gig's in Italy, Germany and Belgium for me, stay tuned for more 2CB melodic madness !

 

JimSon (BE)

JimSon started playing in 1994. He played different kinds of music like euro house on vinyl and cd’s. And he also played on numerous wedding and birthday parties since then, so he is in to all kinds of music such as hard rock, pop music etc.
In 1999 he went to his first goa festival, Dance-a-Delic in the Belgian Ardens where he got hooked to psychedelic trance. A few years later he started collecting material to play with.
His favorite genre is full-on and morning trance.
He has no specific time that he wants to play, every hour of day, night or morning suits him and he can adapt his style to what the crowd is in to.
Expect a mind blowing top of the bill psychedelic adventure with a dark flavor inspired by Yabai craziness…
To name a few artist and labels of his collection: EVP, Reality Grid, Yabai, Hadra Records, Dino Psaras, etc.
Last year he played on GanjaTree 5 and Naked Festival in Germany.

 

Psytoad (BE)

Hi , I’m Ziggy (aka Psytoad) and I was born in 1990.
First I want to say that music is my life and since I became aware that I was alive, I have started building up this love for music.
Going from oldskool hip-hop to reggae and trip hop , some dub step and sometimes even heavy metal. But now it’s all GoaTrance !
Now let me tell you something more of how I got rolled into the psy-scene:
At the age of 15 I listened, accidentally, to GoaTrance at a friends house. I didn’t really loved it from the very first moments, but then I have started to listen more and more
and I began to love it, also more and more !
Shortly after I got to know Goatrance, my friend took me to my first party and I was sold !
First I only knew Fullon,  but when I started to go more often to parties I was introduced into the Dark-Psy & OLDSKOOL scene’s.
My love for oldskool went through the roof, high as the sky, so I started to focus more on oldskool parties.
I was fascinated by how the dj’s played their music to excite the partypeople and I wanted to do it too.
September 2008 I was invited to play at a benefit for the organization: Dark Crisis.
Immediately I was bitten by the bug :p.
December 2008 I finally got my own dj setup and from that point on I have started to evolve and found my way into Oldskool GoaTrance (I just love to play it !!).
The styles I prefer to play are going from heavy uplifting Trance to Oldskool that has been influenced by Acid and a Forest kind of music.
All this has resulted in a residency for the GanjaTree party crew !!!!


Everything that takes you to a higher level of natural trance !

Hi, 

I'm Christof and I was born in 1976. I've been a fan of dance music since 1987, then it was Detroit techno. 14 years ago i discovered the Goa scene here in belgium, it was in Hof ter Lo and I found it overwelming, so much sounds! I was so interested in the music I bought a MC 303 Roland Groovebox. It was with this machine I began to understand the structure of dance music. 7 years ago I've bought me some turntables and a mixer and I start to beatmix. A few years later I started using cd players because there 's more Psytrance to find. I've started to play on

small parties and people gavbe me a good response, so i started play more frequently. Nowadays i play several styles like psytrance, progerssive, minimal and techno. I was asked to join the GanjaTree crew, which is like the cherry on the pie for me.
